Update Coming Soon!

Kendall Reyes begins his sixth season as head coach of the USC Upstate women's soccer program.

Prior to coming to Spartanburg, Reyes was the head coach at Newberry College, where his overall record was 15-20-2 in two seasons. In 1999, he led the Lady Indians to a 9-9-1 record, marking the first non-losing season in the program's history. While at Newberry, Reyes coached an honorable mention All-American, a South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, a NSCAA All-South Region selection, and five All-SAC players.

He started his coaching career at Francis Marion, where just five years ago he helped start a Patriot women's program that is now a perennial national contender. He also assisted with the men's program from 1993-98.

In his first four years at USC Upstate, Reyes has produced a PBC Championship in 2001 and runner-up in 2003. The program has finished in the top half of the PBC each season. He has coached 12 All Conference players, four All Region players, and one All- American.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities at USC Upstate, Coach Reyes serves as an Olympic Development Program State Team Head Coach for the SC Youth Soccer Association. He also served as an O.D.P. Region III Staff Coach and is an Associate Director of Soccer Vision Academy Inc.

Coach Reyes holds the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) National and Advanced National Diplomas and Premier, as well as an NSCAA Goalkeeping Institute Diploma. Coach Reyes is also an NSCAA Associate Academy Staff member.

Reyes, a native of Trinidad and Tobago, graduated from Francis Marion in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in English, with a coaching minor. He also earned a M.Ed. from FMU. While there, he was a four-year captain, four-time letterman and two-time All-Peach Belt Conference selection for the Patriots.

An ordained Deacon, Kendall and his wife, Minister E. Pearl Reyes, have two children, Lamar (16) and Tia N'Kenja (8).
